Sell a Patek Philippe

Pinnacle Chrono buys Patek Philippe outright, from Nautilus and Aquanaut through to Calatrava and the complicated references. Send the reference and condition and a figure comes back against that watch. Patek is the brand where completeness moves the number most, because the certificate of origin is treated as part of the watch rather than paperwork attached to it. Independent dealer, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33334. Payment on completion, insured shipping arranged.

Why the papers matter more here

On most brands, missing papers cost a percentage. On Patek Philippe they cost more than that, and on the steel sports references they can cost a great deal. The certificate of origin, the setting pin, the outer packaging and the original strap or bracelet all count, and buyers in this segment expect the full set as a default rather than a bonus.

Patek also offers an Extract from the Archives, which confirms production and original configuration. On a vintage or complicated reference an extract can materially support the figure.

References most often bought

Line Notes on value
Nautilus 5711 and its variants sit at the top. Dial colour separates the market
Aquanaut Strong and rising. Strap condition matters more than buyers expect
Calatrava Valued on reference, dial and case originality
Complications Annual calendar and world time references trade actively
Grand Complications Assessed individually. Service history carries real weight

How selling works

  1. Send the reference, condition, and everything that came with the watch.
  2. An initial range comes back based on that information.
  3. The watch is inspected, locally or by insured shipping.
  4. A firm figure confirmed against the watch in hand.
  5. Payment on acceptance, or insured return at no cost if declined.

Condition on an integrated bracelet

On the Nautilus and Aquanaut the bracelet or strap cannot be swapped for a generic replacement, so wear is permanent in a way it is not on a watch with lugs. Bracelet stretch and case edge sharpness are the two things assessed first. A Nautilus with crisp case facets and a tight bracelet sits well above one that has been worn daily for a decade, even where both are described as excellent.

Pinnacle Chrono states condition plainly rather than generously, on both sides of a transaction. Membership of Jewelers of America, the Jewelers Board of Trade and the IWJG.

Frequently asked questions

How much is my Patek Philippe worth?

It depends on the reference, the dial, the condition and whether the certificate of origin survives. Send the reference and photographs of the dial, caseback and certificate and an initial range comes back.

What happens if I have lost the certificate of origin?

The watch is still bought, at a lower figure than a full set would reach. An Extract from the Archives can be requested from Patek Philippe and will confirm production details, though it does not replace the original certificate in the eyes of the market.

Should I sell or consign a 5711?

A discontinued reference with a narrow buyer pool is often the clearest case for consignment, because reaching the right buyer takes time and that time converts into a higher figure. Pinnacle Chrono will say which route suits a specific example rather than pushing one.

Is Pinnacle Chrono an authorized Patek Philippe dealer?

No. Pinnacle Chrono is an independent dealer and is not an authorized dealer for Patek Philippe or any other brand carried.
